King therefore provides its full context window on the free tier as well. Queen comes with a context window of 256,000 tokens on the free tier; the full window of one million tokens belongs to the paid tier. Prince uses its full window of 16,000 tokens on both kinds of tier.
The context window covers more than the last thing the user typed. The conversation so far, uploaded or pasted content, system instructions, tool results and the generated answer all take up tokens as well. The largest possible file size, or the length of the input on its own, is therefore below the full context window whenever room has to be kept for system information and the answer.
Voice and Imagine are not limited by a text context window. For these models, the speech and image capacity included in each case has to be stated in the pricing overview.

Yes. Pre-registering commits you to nothing. You choose the tier and the billing period when it actually starts.

The account holds the tier, the allowance and any later additional usage. Chat and apps only display it. API enforcement is planned and stays switched off until authorisation and consumption can be recorded atomically.
